Who we are
Impact Arts is an innovative Scottish charity operating across Central Scotland, with our headquarters in Glasgow City Centre and bases in Edinburgh and North Ayrshire. We specialise in using the arts and creativity to tackle social challenges, support individuals living with inequalities, and create stronger, more connected communities. We understand the power of creativity to bring positive changes to lives, especially where other interventions might have struggled. Our dedicated team of artists, educators, and project tutors deliver a wide range of creative programmes that inspire, engage, and empower.
Through our creative engagement approach we tackle the common issues that restrict life chances faced by those living with inequalities. This encompasses an array of challenges including poor physical and mental health, experience of trauma, limited educational attainment and higher risk of unemployment. 83% of our participants are from areas with above average levels of deprivation, with 45% belonging to the top 15% most deprived localities.
What we do
Our projects focus on using the arts as a tool for social change. Whether it’s through painting, crafts, digital media, or performance, we help participants explore their creativity while developing important life skills.
- Young People: We support young people at risk of disengagement, offering employability programmes, creative apprenticeships, and hands-on artistic experiences that build confidence and skills for the future.
- Adults and Families: Our projects help parents and adults gain employability skills, build resilience, and access creative opportunities to improve wellbeing and strengthen family connections.
- Older Adults: We provide creative workshops to reduce social isolation and enhance wellbeing for older adults, ensuring they remain active, connected, and creative.
- Communities: We transform public spaces with community-driven art projects, making them more vibrant and engaging, and giving people a sense of pride and ownership in their surroundings.
